Round 1

Hey all,

It's that time again, for another blog. Well what a big first week it has been for the Sixers. We started our road double over in Singapore. Wasn't exactly the start we were looking for going down by 7 in the end 98-91. Quite disappointing opening but was good to see our new import Horvath step into the team and put up a nice double double finishing with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Cooper came in off the bench and put up a solid 10 points and 7 rebounds.

The second leg of the road double was against Wollongong, was a very close game right through, with the Hawks pulling out to a 9 point lead in the 4th. That was until the Maherster took over, going on a run of his own, singlehandedly leading the Sixers to a 4 point win. 85-89.

It's good to see that we can come home to the Dome with a 1-1 record. I think most people expected them to come home with that record, but most if not all expected the W to come against the Slingers not the Gong. Oh well, a wins a win.

That's all for this installment, next time we will have our tips for round 2.

Until then remember to, Keep it Seal'D

The Beginning is Near!

Hey all and Welcome back to the Second Installment of Seal'D Section.

First up we would like to thank you for all your comments about our First Episode of Seal'D. We have a had a great response. Any feedback you can give us or any ideas is all greatly appreciated. I have added the links to both the YouTube and Google Versions of "Seal'D Episode 1" to the sidebar. The google version is able to be downloaded, so if you feel the need go for your life.

Now onto the Sixers, bit of an up and down time at the Blitz in Coffs Harbour. Had a dissappointing start to the Blitz going down to the Tigers 56-63. Horvath had a good game dropping 20 points in under 20 mins. Great pick up IMO by Smyth and if he can stay healthy could be all the difference come finals. Second game was against the Dragons, good to see them get one back on the Dragons, with the final score 50-36, Copes looked to be back to his old Tigers self dropping 18 points including 5/7 threes. The Sixers final first round game was against Bris-Vegas and they went down in OT, after a Big Willie dropped a 3 on the buzzer, 67-72. (Will never understand how the Bullets can be soo stacked with talent and still come in under the cap and points, but we need a whole blog alone to look at that). The first game of the Quarter Finals saw us get our a$$es handed to us on a platter by the Queens, ooops I mean the Boomers, nope sorry I mean the Kings. With the end result looking like the Kings 73 to the Sixers 45. Overall not a bad performance I think, with Smyth trying a range of different playing groups. As Smyth later commented the D still needs some work, but IMO we will get there.

Coming up in the next episode of Seal'D, we are hoping to have an interview with the Sixers new import Nick Horvath, an interview with the Cheerleaders choreographer and dancer Carmel, some highlights from the pre-season game with the Wildcats, we will be releasing a new segment called "Aunty Booga" + we will also be adding another segment called on the couch with Bizzy, Skip and Bozza where we will go through everything basketball for the week. This weeks will include our take on the ROTY, COTY, Champions, MVP, Spooners etc. I'll give you all a quick run-down of my predictions :-

MVP: Horvath
ROTY: Ingles
Spoon: Pigs or maybe Slingers
Coach: Westover of Lemanis
GF: Sixers v Tigers
Champs: Sixers

I will give you all some of the reasons for my pics on the couch, where we will also hear what Skip and Boz have to say.

Well Seals fans I think that is enough from me for today, don't forget if you have any ideas for some challenges we Seals can put to the Sixers leave a comment here or drop us a line at navyseals@adam.com.au

Until till next time, keep it Seal'D

Welcome

Welcome all to the Navy Seals blog - Seal'D Section.

As you are probably aware after our famous stints on NBL Wrap, we are a bunch of die hard Sixers fans who will do anything to get under the oppositions skin (and our face on the TV).

The height of our achievement would probably be throwing one-time Cairns player, Melvin Thomas, into a seriously bad game with an endless droning "Meeelllvviiinn" chant. The fact he gave us a mouthfull at half time said it all.

Basically the point of this blog is too keep you up to date with all the Seal happenings, plus we will give you an un-compromising view on all the happenings around the NBL, Sixers and anything else we see fit.

Hope you enjoy the reading....
